30th November 1939 – 23 Squadron/229 Squadron, RAF Digby – Bristol Blenheim IF - L1452 – F/L P D Walker RAF - Searchlight Co-operation.
Location – Crashed Owlet Plantation, Redhill near Blyton
This crew were tasked to undertake a searchlight co-operation duty near Gainsborough. The aircraft dived in to the ground from a skidding right hand turn following engine failure and crashed at Owlet Plantation Redhill near Blyton.
The Wireless Operator/Air Gunner, LAC C Chrystal, baled out. Sadly the pilot and engineer were killed.
