Peter Pearson Hague DFC RAFVR and crew – 576 Squadron / 103 Squadron/ 156 Squadron – 1944/45 - 122122

Peter Hague and his crew were posted to 576 Squadron at RAF Elsham Wolds from 11 Base on the 12th August 1944.

The this crew consisted of :-

F/L PP Hague

Sgt T EV Allen

P/O K D Clements

Sgt R Low,

Sgt C C Routledge,

Sgt H Henson

W/O J W Sargeant. Replaced by F/O G Thompson in December 1944 when the crew were serving with 103 Squadron. )

According to the 576 Squadron ORB this crew flew unaltered apart from W/O Sargeant who was replaced by F/O G Thomson towards the end of their stint with 576 Squadron. The operations they flew with 576 Squadron were as follows :-

25/08/1944 – Russelheim – Factory – PD400 – F/L PP Hague

26/08/1944 – Kiel - Point of Aim – PB467 – F/L PP Hague

29/08/1944 – Stettin - Point of Aim – LM294 – F/L PP Hague

31/08/1944 – Agenville - V weapon – PD232 – F/L PP Hague

03/09/1944 – Eindhoven – Airfield – PD232 - F/L PP Hague

05/09/1944 - Le Havre - Army support – PB467 – F/L PP Hague

08/09/1944 - Le Havre - Army support – ME801 – F/L PP Hague

10/09/1944 - Le Havre - Army support – PB467 – F/L PP Hague

12/09/1944 – Frankfurt - Point of Aim – LM294 – F/L PP Hague

15/09/1944 - Oslo, Kattegat and River Elbe - Mine laying – PB472 – F/L PP Hague

These operations were completed without any recorded incident

Peter Hague and his crew were then transferred to 103 Squadron also at RAF Elsham Wolds on the  29th September 1944 where he became a Flight Commander.

The operations they flew with 103 Squadron were as follows :-

26-Sep-44 – Calais -  Army support – Lancaster – ME698 – F/L PP Hague

27-Sep-44 – Calais -  Army support – Lancaster – PD272 – F/L PP Hague

11-Oct-44 - Fort Frederik Hendrik - Army support – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

14-Oct-44 – Duisburg - Operation Hurricane – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

15-Oct-44 – Wilhelmshaven - Point of Aim – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

19-Oct-44 – Stuttgart - Point of Aim – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

25-Oct-44 – Essen - Point of Aim – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

28-Oct-44 – Cologne - Point of Aim – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

30-Oct-44 – Cologne - Point of Aim – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

31-Oct-44 – Cologne - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

06-Nov-44 – Gelsenkirchen – Oil – Lancaster – LM682 – S/L PP Hague

09-Nov-44 - Wanne Eikel – Oil – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

29-Nov-44 – Dortmund - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

06-Dec-44 – Leuna – Oil – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

13-Dec-44 - Aarhus Bay - Mine laying – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

24-Dec-44 – Cologne/Nippes - Railway yards – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague - Bad weather at base. All aircraft diverted to Old Buckenham

05-Jan-45 - Hannover  - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

06-Jan-45 - Stettin Bay - Mine laying – Lancaster – ME698 – S/L PP Hague

At that point Peter Hague was posted to 582 Pathfinder Squadron 27th January 1945

He was awarded a DFC which was gazetted 13th April 1945.

He seems to have left the RAF postwar as I can find no further mention of him.
