The Pamplin crew were posted to 103 Squadron at RAF Elsham Wolds from 1 Lancaster Finishing School on the 10 August 1944. The crew was as follows :-

Sgt G W C James

F/O J A Deslauriers RCAF

F/O L H Sealey RCAF

F/S L Wilmer RCAF joined the Farris crew and was replaced by P/O L Targett, F/S H Shaw, P/O H K Simmonds and Sgt Bonong for the last few ops

F/S S G Turner

Pamplin flew his “ second dickie “ trip to Brunswick 12/13 Aug 1944 with F/L J T A Marsden and crew in LM295

Pamplin was then posted 16 Jan 1944 to RCAF R Depot with Deslauriers and Sealey

Doug Pamplin was awarded a DFC gazetted 23 March 1945

Interestingly Selmo Verniuwe, the Belgian pilot, flew under the assumed name of Pamplin in late December and early January.
