George Denwood DFC MBE RAFVR and crew – 103 Squadron and 156 Pathfinder Squadron - 1943

George Denwood and crew were posted to 103 Squadron at RAF Elsham Wolds from Heavy Conversion Unit in March 1943. The date is not recorded

13-Apr-43 - La Spezia - Naval base and docks – Lancaster – ED614 – W/O G Denwood - Landed at Westcott

16-Apr-43 – Pilsen - Skoda industrial complex – Lancaster – ED614 – W/O G Denwood

28-Apr-43 - Gulf of Danzig - Mine laying – Lancaster – ED878 – W/O G Denwood

On the 10th July 1943 this crew were posted to 156 Pathfinder Squadron where they completed their tour

W/O George Denwood was awarded a DFC gazetted on the 13th July 1943

Post war F/L Denwood was awarded an MBE 1st January 1946 in the New Years Honours.

He appears to have remained in the Air Force in some role until at least 1958
