Anthony James Hiscock DFC and bar RAFVR and crew – 103 Squadron/156 Squadron – 1944 - 151450

F/O A J Hiscock together with his Air Bomber F/O J A Turk and navigator P/O S C Cooper and the rest of the crew were posted to 103 Squadron at RAF Elsham Wolds from 1667 HCU on the 10th January 1944
The crew were as follows :-

On the 14-Jan-1944 Hiscock flew as co-pilot with F/L H D Churchill and crew in JB732 to Brunswick.
He then captained his own crew on the following operations :-
21-Jan-44 – Magdeburg - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ND408 – F/O AJ Hiscock
27-Jan-44 – Berlin - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ND381 – F/O AJ Hiscock
28-Jan-44 – Berlin - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ND381 – F/O AJ Hiscock – Enemy aircraft followed on bombing run but did not attack. Rear gunner did not fire in order that run should not be spoiled
30-Jan-44 – Berlin - Point of Aim – Lancaster – ND363 – F/O AJ Hiscock

Hiscock and his crew had clearly made a good impression in their short time with 103 Squadron and on the 2nd February 1944 they were posted to 156 Pathfinder Squadron at Upwood.
Whilst with 156 the crew flew numerous operations and were clearly very highly regarded
Tony Hiscock was awarded a DFC gazetted 8th December 1944 and a bar to his DFC gazetted 30th March 1945 on completion of a long tour.
Joseph Arthur Turk was awarded a DFC gazetted 16th January 1945.
John Gordon Cooper was awarded a DFC also gazetted 16th January 1945.
There may well have been others as this was a highly proficient and experienced Pathfinder crew.
